TAYLOR DEAF ED.

This agreement outlines the expectations, policies, and responsibilities for academic tutoring services provided by Taylor Hallenbeck, operating as Taylor Deaf Ed. (“Tutor”). By enrolling in tutoring services, the parent/guardian or adult student (“Client”) agrees to the terms below.

1. Services Provided: Tutoring sessions are delivered in English, ASL, SimCom, or Total Communication (whichever is best for the Client), focusing on academic subject mastery and skill retention. Services are strictly limited to the hours and parameters specified in the package selected at enrollment. Students are welcome to email or message the Tutor their questions during the week. The Tutor will respond within 48 hours with a hint or a brief explanation. If a question requires a deep dive, a full solution will be mapped out together during the next scheduled session.

2. Scheduling: Sessions are scheduled in advance based on mutual availability. The Client is responsible for ensuring the student attends sessions on time and arrives prepared with relevant coursework or questions. Late arrivals do not extend the scheduled session time.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy: 

• 24-Hour Notice: Cancellations or requests to reschedule must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled session.
• Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as no-shows, are charged in full.
• Rescheduling Limits (By Package): To maintain learning continuity, planned rescheduling with at least 24 hours' notice is limited based on your enrolment tier. The Exam/Test Prep Package is allowed one (1) rescheduled session total. The Course Support and Course Acceleration package are allowed one (1) rescheduled session every four (4) weeks.
• Reschedule Timing: A rescheduled session is strictly subject to Tutor availability. It may be set up at an alternate date/time outside of your regular slot, or bumped into the following week.

4. Illness & Emergencies: 

• Client Emergencies & Illness: If a Client becomes ill or a sudden emergency occurs, please notify the Tutor as soon as possible. Because unexpected events happen, one (1) emergency waiver per package may be granted at the Tutor’s discretion, allowing a session canceled with less than 24 hours' notice to be rescheduled. Additional last-minute cancellations beyond this single waiver remain subject to the standard policy and are charged in full.
• Tutor Cancellations: The Tutor is committed to reliability and will only cancel when absolutely necessary. If the Tutor must cancel or reschedule due to illness or emergency, the Client will be notified immediately. The session will be rescheduled at no cost. If rescheduling is not possible within the program timeline, the session will be credited back to the Client.
  

5. Communication & Support: Mid-week messaging or emailing of quick and simple questions is permitted on a limited basis, and will receive a response containing hints or one or two sentence answers within 48 hours, at the Tutor's discretion based on availability. Comprehensive instructional guidance, deep-dives into complex concepts, and extended tutoring occur exclusively during scheduled session times.

6. Payment & Termination: Payment is due in full before the first scheduled session. If either party determines that the tutoring relationship is not a good fit after the first session, the remaining sessions will be refunded in full. The first session is non-refundable. Beyond this initial evaluation period, packages are non-refundable.

7. Disclaimer On Progress: Student progress depends on many variables, including student engagement, consistency, attitude, and outside practice. Because each student’s needs and learning environments are completely unique, Taylor Deaf Ed. cannot guarantee specific grades, test scores, or exact levels of academic improvement.
